Travel plans and EECI

On Thursday, the dogs and cat go into boarding, for on Friday I am off on a merry adventure.

Friday afternoon I leave for San Jose airport, where I Growl will pick me up from the airport, deal with getting a gigantic hug, and then we we will spend the weekend engaged in scintillating conversation, enjoying delicious wine and meals, and catching up.

Some time that weekend I will have the pleasure of seeing Tiayr for a few hours to also engage in the act of hugging, probably a meal, and no idea what else.

On Monday, Growl will drive me into the wonderful city of San Francisco where I will join my EllisLab family for an incredible conference: EECI.  I am very, very much looking forward to EECI and it is going to be incredible.  If you’re not going, there are still tickets available.  It is not to be missed.

Wednesday evening Growl will pick me up in San Francisco and we’ll have a last evening of that rare time when we get to quietly converse - in person.  Thursday morning Growl will take me back to San Jose airport where I will get on the plane, hopefully arriving back in Portland around 2:20pm so that I can rush home, then rush back out to pick up the kids from their various boarding locations.

That’s, of course, the broad overview. I am so very much looking forward to this trip.  I know the kids will be in great hands, and having a change of pace in my life is sorely needed.  It seems like a long time to be gone from my babies, but the trip itself will have felt far too short when it is over. 

This may be the first trip in years that I’ve had to check luggage….
