It’s been quite a long time since I took several day off in a row (and those including weekends). With the ExpressionEngine 2.0 Public Beta underway, I was starting to feel the need for a break.
So, come December 28th, I’m taking 2 weeks off. This will be the longest time I’ve had off since Smith, and then I was taking summer classes. 2 weeks of my own time, to do with what I like, is just what I need right now.
I’ve managed to get this time off to coincide with Chris’ visit. We don’t have any plans (other than seeing some 3D films at the Bridgeport IMAX). To be honest, I don’t care if we don’t leave the house for 2 weeks (though I’m sure we will). Chris’ job while he’s here will be to make sure I do not work. I love my job, and not working is actually quite hard for me; but I very badly need to have 2 weeks not working.
As for this site, the friends only sections are temporarily on hold but I hope will be up later this week or over the weekend. I have a bunch of projects at work I want to move forward before I have that two weeks off, and I have a ton of cleaning to do here - most of my clothes, for instance, are clean but need to be hung up. I spent an hour this evening cleaning the kitchen and preparing the next few weeks of food for Elka.
That’s really it; Mali is snuggled up on my chest, Elka is fast asleep under the bed, and the week is halfway through. Life is looking pretty great right now.
