1. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl
2. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamy.
3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
5. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
6. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
7. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool immediately.
9. Pan Cookie Variation: Grease 15x10inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
