Impulse purchases, needs vs wants

photo2_thumb

I wanted a watch.

I’ve never owned a high quality, swiss watch.  I’ve wanted one for awhile and seen some I liked.  I made the mistake of looking at watches over at Jared’s and fell in love.

I decided not to buy it.  Too expensive.  I also wanted a no-battery watch: solar or kinetic. This one needs a battery.

I bought a different, cheaper Seiko.

This morning I returned the Seiko and purchased my new Tissot.  I love it.  It feels impulsive.  I certainly didn’t need it.  but it’ll last a long time and I love it.  I’ll wear it all day, every day.

3 days of sitting on the decision make it “not impulsive”, I think.  but it feels impulsive and it feels unnecessary.  But it also feels really good on my wrist.

I have 30 days to suffer buyer’s remorse and bring it back.

(Both Chris, and if I’m honest, myself, knew the second I fell in love I’d end up buying this.  I was really good at walking away for a few days though!)

45 minutes until my cab gets here.  Why am I blogging and not preparing?  ‘scuse!
