More on those new fish

I got a lot of new fish today.  They’re really pretty even as juveniles.

I’ll try to get some pictures of them once they all settle in.  Need updated pictures of my aquarium anyway.

The tank is now bustling, seeing some real cichlid behavior too, and am really happy. Adding the mbuna to the tank is tricky as they’re a bit more aggressive than the other inhabitants.  Also, many of the fish I have will cross-breed, so I can’t sell the fry.  Will have to figure that out if I get over-run by babies. =)

I’m a bit worried about that Exasperatus as well as they may be a bit more aggressive than I wanted, but we’ll see how that works out.

I also posed a situation to them: if I bought a 180 gallon (6x2x2) tank from them and wanted *them* to do the job of emptying the old tank, moving it out of its space, putting the new one there and getting everything set back up again - how much would it cost?”  Well it’s $60/hour, and he thinks it would take them less than 2 hours.  (That’s about 10 hours less than it would take me, btw).

Not that I"m going to double my tank size, but…. it has crossed my mind from time to time.  I will have a 180 eventually just not sure about the timing.  In my ideal world my 180 would be an in-wall aquarium with a sump for all the gear, etc.  Someday…. =)
