New Roomba!

I got the iRobot Roomba 562 Pet Series.  I’ve been playing around with it and right now it’s cleaning the great room/dining room/kitchen area.  It’s fantastic.

Mali isn’t terribly impressed and also does not view it as an amusement park ride. She’s particularly annoyed by the robot when it’s cleaning under the couch, and therefore under us.

Elka was fleeing outside (her normal “vacuum cleaner behavior” but since the Roomba works on its own I was able to do some focused training with her and she’s no longer fleeing in panic.  She did choose to go outside when I put the treats away but only after sniffing at the robot and looking at it with what I swear was disdain.

As for me, I’m watching it with some fascination.  It does need to be empties more often than I’d like, but once I’ve run it a few times I expect that’ll be under control.  I did do a pre-vacuum with the Dyson but the Roomba is much more thorough.

I really love my first robot.
