North Face Jacket, finally

When I attended Smith I wanted a North Face jacket, but couldn’t find one in my size (or anything bigger than about a size 8 woman’s).  It never occurred to me to go to a ski/sport shot and look at men’s jackets.

The other day I went to Dick’s here in Oregon and invested in a rather pricey North Face. It’s very warm.  I did get it on sale ($50 off) so that was a nice bonus.  Mine has some grey to it and is mostly black, but it’s very similar to that picture I included. 

Today, there was a break in the rain so I took Elka to the park.  After about 20 minutes the skies opened up….

... I didn’t even notice.  I had the hood up and the first thing I noticed was hearing the rain on my hood.  I got home completely dry and very warm, even though the rain was coming down harder than it comes out of my shower (impressive, that).

Best winter investment ever, yes indeed.  I wish I’d been more adamant about getting one when I was in Northampton.
