Since December 29th, I’ve lost 23lbs. I’ve had some challenges - Elka’s illness was a time when pizza hut when have been both comforting and easy (I didn’t get one). I’ve had times of extreme exhaustion where I didn’t want to care about diet or exercise.
For the most part, I’ve overcome those challenges.
I’ve even managed to eat out twice and stay under my calorie limits.
However, starting today, and until next weekend, I have a new challenge.
This evening, Chris & Wendy are saving me from the doldrums of a house without animals but letting me spend time at their house, where at least here will be other people. I’m having dinner there, and figuring out even how many calories that contains could be challenging. At least I swam today!
But then I travel. I’ll spend the week with my co-workers. We have a wonderful dinner at Texas De Brazil planned. Every day is going to be packed. right now my plan is to wake up at 6am (8am PT I think?) and go to the hotel’s gym. I am bringing 5 packets of oatmeal to start my day as well. So I’ll have exercise and breakfast under control.
Then I have to guess how many calories are in the supplied lunches. Then dinner is just a huge question mark. I will be drinking water only (maybe some coffee or tea) but the food calories are going to be very hard to manage. Sticking with the early workout plan may also prove challenging.
Right now, I’m keeping my goal realistic: maintain my weight. I lost 3lbs this past week, I can stand not losing any weight while I’m away from home. I think I can manage it, but this will easily be the biggest challenge my new lifestyle will face. Managing food and fitness at home has become second nature and fairly easy. Doing so out for a week?
Here’s to hoping I don’t lose any of my progress. All I can do is work hard and try to stay focused.
And stay away from alcohol. <0=- Very important.
