The Joy of Being Alone

This social distancing is making me realize how unusual I am.

I’m happy, content, even joyful. I’m *home*. I have food, clean water, a roof over my head, a job, books to read, crafts to do, animals to keep me busy, all the peace, quiet, and lack of interruptions, no need nor expectation I’ll leave my property.

My current happiness is really poignant against the social media backdrop of people struggling with being home/being home alone and the results on their mental health.

A very small part of me feels sad for all the people unable to experience the immense joy in this lifestyle.

Meanwhile, I thrive.

  1. I learned how to enjoy the time I spend with myself and I cannot say that this social distancing affects me much. I live in a flat and that is the only downside but otherwise, I love my books, I love having a coffee at home while reading different blogs, I love being home in peace and quiet
